Using the site

 

1. What is HomeyShow?

It’s a platform where artists have the opportunity to sell their shows and private hosts or public spaces have the opportunity to buy the shows they prefer.

2. What is a Host?

A host is a person that has created an account with HomeyShow in order to host shows at his private or public venue.

3. What is an Artist?

An artist is a person (or a band, a theatre company, a cultural association etc.) that sells his show through HomeyShow.

4. What kind of show can I offer through HomeyShow?

With HomeyShow you can offer any kind of show or performance whatever your ability is. That includes teaching astronomy or pottery, cooking thai food for your audience, acting, playing or teaching instruments and so on. Be creative!

5. Can I meet or contact the artist before I book?

We encourage hosts and artists to exchange messaging and complete their bookings through HomeyShow private messaging system. This procedure will guarantee privacy and safety on both sides, and there will be a record of their agreement. Phone numbers will only be visible after the transaction is concluded. We strongly recommend to refuse to pay or accept money for the shows outside of the HomeyShow platform in order to prevent frauds.


Reserving a Show

 

6. How do I reserve a show?

If you are ready to book a show that you like send a request to the artist with the HomeyShow reservation tool. Complete with:

  • the address where you would like the performance to take place (or simply insert your venue if you have already added one in your inbox).
  • the date and the time when the performance should start.

Use the messaging tool to inform the artist of any relevant information about the venue, the audience or the performance you need.

Send your request to the artist. If the artist accept you will receive a message in your inbox and a link to pay the performance. If the payment goes through succesfully you will receive an email with the details of the transaction.

7. How do I cancel a show?

You can cancel a show free of charge if you cancel within the free cancellation period. Simply login in to your inbox, select the show you wish to cancel and press the cancel button. You will get a full refund minus the eventual expenses for transferring the money back to your account (it’s free if you have a PayPal account).

8. What happens if an artist declines my request?

Sometimes happen that artists are already busy on some dates or are unavailable for longer periods. We suggest that you search for other artists/shows on our database.

9. What happens if an artist doesn’t reply to my request?

We ask the artists to reply requests as soon as possible. However it might happen that artists don’t reply to requests. In that case feel free to contact our staff and we ill try to reach the artist. If we don’t succeed we will cancel your request and you can search and find another artist/show on our database.

10. What happens if an artist doesn’t show up at the time and place indicated?

If an artist doesn’t show up you will be eligible for a refund. Please contact us in order to claim your refund. However, to avoid misunderstandings, make sure to contact the artist a few days before in order to exchange all relevant information about how to reach your venue.

HomeyShow might inform other users that an artist has cancelled or didn’t show up for a show on the artist show page.

11. What happens if an artist arrives late?

An host is authorized to refuse the show and claim a refund if an artist arrives more than one hour late, for reasons other than force majeure, at the time set for the show. However we always encourage all users to find a solution suitable for both parties.

12. What happens if I don’t like a show I have reserved?

Artists are asked to provide all relevant information about a show. That includes pictures, videos and a description. However it might happen that an host doesn’t enjoy a show. A refund is not possible in this case; hosts can leave a review about a show after the show is concluded.

13. How can I change the date for a show I have already booked?

If you need to change date for a show that you have already booked, you should cancel the existing show and book the show again for the preferred dates. If the free cancellation period is already expired please contact us. We will try to contact the artist and see if he agrees to perform in different dates. However please note that this is not always possible.

14.  How do I leave a review?

After the show is concluded, you will receive an email with the link to leave your review. Please always use a polite language. Offensive reviews will be removed.


Uploading shows or venues

 

15. Can I upload multiple shows/locations?

Yes you can!

As an artist you can upload different shows; for instance if you are a singer you can sell:

  • a full two hours show;
  • a three songs show for wedding ceremonies, or
  • an introduction to singing lesson for a group of friends.

No limits to creativity!

As a private host you can upload your house, your terrace, your garden and so on. If you are the owner/manager* of a public space you can upload as a venue your theatre, pub, restaurant etc.  

*If you are uploading a venue as a manager make sure you have all the necessaire authorization to upload the venue.

16.  What happens if my art category is not on the list?

You can publish your show under the ‘other’ category. Please contact HomeyShow and if possible we will insert your categories asap.

17.  How can I contact a Host to propose my show?

Choose the venue you would like to perform at, select one of your shows from the ‘propose your Show’ menu and send. You can also send a private message to better describe your idea.

 


Charges and fees

 

18.  How do I pay for a show?

If an artist accept your request, you will be asked to make a payment. You can pay a show with a credit card or PayPal.

19. What is included in the price?

On the show page it is indicated what is included and what is excluded. The price indicated is inclusive of the HomeyShow fee, a 6% commission that we use to maintain the site and promote the artists.

20. As an an artist, when will I be paid for my performance?

Within 72 hours after the show Is concluded HomeyShow will transfer the amount due to the artist with PayPal. If a host claims a refund, HomeyShow will investigate the matter and make the transfer once the investigation is concluded. We will do our best in closing all investigations as quickly as possible; however in some circumstances this process might take s long time. Please note that every artist is responsible to pay his own taxes according to laws and regulations for his country of residence.

21. What is the HomeyShow fee?

It’s a 6% fee that HomeyShow uses to maintain the site and promote the artists. In case of cancellations of a show within the terms indicated by the artist you will receive a full refund of the amount paid minus the eventual expenses to wire the money back to your account.

22. What happen if I don’t have a PayPal account?

As an host you can buy any shows with most credit cards. As an artist you must open a PayPal account in order to get paid.

23. What happen if I don’t have a credit card?

A credit card or PayPal account are necessaire to buy a show.

24.  How can I cancel my account with HomeyShow?

If you wish to cancel your HomeyShow account please contact us. Your account will be removed asap.


Privacy

 

25. Is my Privacy protected?

HomeyShow never reveal email addresses or your personal information to any third party. We do not sell your information or use it in any way to target advertising. We only use your information to enable you to contact artists or host throughout the world. After a show is booked by a host, phone numbers will be visible to both parties for them to communicate and agree the details of the performance.
